Our Commitment

Evan Beckett Real Estate is committed to making becketthomes.org usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. Housing information should be reachable by every prospective buyer, seller, and renter.

Conformance Target

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We describe our current status as partially conformant, which means most of the site meets that standard but some content does not yet.

What We Have Done

Descriptive alternative text on images across the site.
Accessible names on search, chat, and form controls so they are announced correctly by screen readers rather than relying on placeholder text alone.
A “skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen reader users.
A declared page language and descriptive page titles.
Zoom and text resizing are not blocked on mobile devices.
Text and background color combinations have been measured across every page against the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for normal text (3:1 for large text), and remediated where they fell short.

Known Limitations

We would rather tell you what is not fixed yet than claim more than we have earned. We are currently reviewing and remediating:

Text placed over photographs. Where captions or headings sit on top of an image, the effective contrast depends on that image and is not guaranteed to meet the ratio above.
Third-party embedded content (mapping, listing feeds, and analytics widgets) is not fully under our control and may not meet the same standard.
Some older blog and listing pages may have heading structures that do not follow a strict order.
